Can you expand on your workflow? LR -> export to JPG -> EvotoAI -> export to Jpg -> import to LR? My understanding is that Evoto's cost is per image. Do you edit the whole set and then select, or do you make your selection in LR before you edit in Evoto?

yeah GREAT QUESTION and one i truly wish they would address. it makes me nuts i have to export from lightroom and THEN import - that is not new tech. any way i digress... :) i export from lightroom (i have a preset i created to export as a full TIF >> to a dedicated folder on my desktop called EVOTO EDIT then drag and drop into Evoto >> edit the image then EXPORT to full jpg to a folder called fully retouched (this folder is in the main image folder (basically the job name) with the other raw files.

You went in and added magenta to the white balance after you applied the preset, thus rendering the calibration useless. You added a magenta cast to the overall image. While the calibration process is useful, and in some cases, vital, in this particular situation, a simple grey-card or white and grey card (or maybe Spyder cube) would be more than enough, and you can just use the white balance ink dropper to zero out as much of the crazy colour cast as needed. Thereafter, just go and make adjustments as you usually would, to make it look great… Including adding some magenta if needed.

I’m so glad you said what you did about the natural light shooters. I hear so many excuses about not using OCF. The chief on being, “ I don’t want to have to carry all that extra gear!!” It’s minimal as you showed unless you’re bringing strobes out. Too much reliance on presets to fix. Natural light is beautiful when used right. And hey, well balanced OCF looks natural and the added contrast is so much nicer!!

I have found that the ones who object to OCF are either scared to death of it or too lazy to learn. So I ask them how they would like to double their income in less than 6 months and then they don’t know what to say. Sal, thanks for the video. Longtime shooter but I always pick up a few tips from you.
